This design was for the BVYM contest that was in collaboration with Coca-Cola. I wanted find a way to express an unique view on Coca-Cola with using a limit amount of colors and shapes. The Coca-Cola brand standards specify stated that it was to a mainstream demographic and the use of the Coca-Cola logo should be a part of the design. I enjoy making these t-shirts as it gave me a chance to design one for the first time. The thought process behind them took me to making a Virgin Mary like design that I didn’t went for due to obvious reasons and a Japanese Rising Sun style design with the Coca-Cola bottle representing the sun. I wanted to remove cultural references from the design because this contest was issued in the US only and in the social-political atmosphere the country is in, Coca-Cola may not want to take a audacious risk when they sell the t-shirts.
